Another day in paradise...
Life is easy in the DR. When you wake up, it's the same blue skies, gentle breezes with the sun glistening off the azure sea. It beckons you to wake up and enjoy the day. Yesterday evening we rented a 100cc motor scooter and drove east to La Boca, a rivermouth that feeds into the ocean. It is an excellent flat water kiteboarding spot, and I wanted to see it with my own eyes. It was beautiful with the setting sun, and we enjoyed the drive immensely. We met our friend Frank at Extreme Hotels for dinner and enjoyed a quiet Tuesday evening at the hotel. I took a few more runs on the skate ramp without hurting myself.
This morning we headed to Encuentro but the waves were small, so we decided to head west to Sosua. We took a walk on the beach, visited some shops, and bought a few gifts for friends and family. It is a beautiful spot, except for all of the people trying to sell you snorkel tours, beach chairs, and gifts. You learn how to deal with them though, and there are some great deals if you are willing to bargain. Now back at the hotel, the wind is cranking, and I'm getting the itch to head out to the reef for some more kiting in the waves! I'll publish some more photos later.
