Freedom Adventure Tours

10 years ago as I sat on a secluded beach on the Pacific coast of Washington, I wondered what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. As I sat next to a campfire looking up at the stars enjoying the immense beauty of the old growth trees and seemingly endless sand stretching out towards the ocean, a thought came to me. Why not share this beauty with others? Having grown up in Florida, I knew only too well that some people never step out of the concrete jungle to see the beauty of nature all around them. At the rate we are destroying natural environments, these places are becoming even more rare and special. Since then I have become a professional website designer and digital video producer, all with the goal of bringing people closer to nature. It is strange for me to have to be locked inside in front of this computer in order to bring people closer to the world outside, but life is full of irony and contradictions. I still find time to enjoy the outdoors through teaching kiteboarding, and soon we will be offering adventure vacations to my hometown of St. Augustine. Some people would say that I am selfish, busy playing instead of having a serious job. If they spent any time at all in my life they would see that I am very serious about my business and my play! Life was meant to be explored and enjoyed, and if anything in life I am an explorer. When I finally reach the end of the road in life, if I can say that I truly enjoyed myself and taught others to enjoy life a little, then I will have completed my mission. Sure there are important responsibilities in life like securing shelter, water, and food, and transportation. But for some people money, power, and material possessions become an end in themselves, and they lose sight of the real importance of life. As humans we have an innate ability and need to create. The only way we know that we have created something beautiful and true for ourselves is the feeling of love and enthusiasm that we have in our hearts. Whether it is art, music, or a surfer's line as they carve across the water on a wave, it is a human's expression of their love for living. If you do something for no reason than it brings a smile to your face and others around you, then that is the best reason of all. Surround yourself with people who appreciate that beauty and you will find that it grows over time. Find a way to show your light so that everyone can see how brightly it shines. Upon reflection you will see that we are all on different paths heading in the same direction. See you when I get there!
